PARKING
FREE Parking in Richmond
With over 3000 FREE public car parks available in Richmond CBD, there are lots of options. Do check the time restrictions as enforcement does apply and is well monitored.
Please respect the needs of others by not parking longer than the time limit and avoid an unwelcome fine.
Payment of parking fines can be made to the Cashier at any Council Office, or online.
Paid Parking in Richmond
Currently there is no paid parking in Richmond. This is set to change with the new parking strategy for TDC, and will mean there are a small amount of inner CBD car parks that will operate on a payment system for people that want to park for longer periods of time.
Electric Vehicles
The most cost-effective way for EV users to charge their vehicles is by charging them at home overnight. However, public charging stations provide a good option for EV users who are travelling or who need a top-up charge when they’re out and about.
Network Tasman has installed an electric vehicle fast-charging station in Richmond:
Harkness Car Park (beside Richmond Library)
280 Queen Street – access to the car park is from McIndoe Place or McGlashen Avenue
The fast-charging stations have cables attached which simply plug into your vehicle.
